Television Room are a band that for whatever reason came together in Dublin in 2007. We make music using Drums, Bass, Synthesisers, Melodicas, Glockenspeils, Guitars, Piano, Mandolins, Shakers, Singing, Shouting and whatever else we can think of.
Television Room (note complete absence of definite article) and, along with Michael John (vocals and guitar) were formerly The Marshals. Since the sad demise of said outfit they’ve hooked up with Fergus Gleeson (guitar), Grace Fay (keyboards, synths, vocals) and Christian Best (drums). They met Gleeson through a mutual friend, Best was a friend of James from Skibbereen while Grace was met via an ad on the internet in order to launch their special brand of melodic guitar pop on the civilised world.
Their tunesome debut single ‘Tinabelle’ came out last October on the Faction label to a favourable reception with a new single ‘Modern Boys and Girls’ released in February 2008.
