Trybez

The band includes Paulo Goude, son of the legendary Grace Jones, Faisal, an accomplished French actor and singer and Azella, a talented vocalist and dancer.

All three singers/rappers are based in Paris, where they work together to break the musical language barrier, singing and rapping in English, French and Spanish.

Their multiethnic background and trilingual lyrics make them very unique indeed. As Paulo explains:  “I've always been inspired by my surroundings, feeding off whatever comes to me. Azella and Faisal came to me and the result was a combination of all of our cultures musically put together. I have a classical base and am really fond of Spanish and Arabic melodies, and I love mixing it all with heavy synthetic beats.”

The band released their debut album in January of this year. The album features twelve tracks, including top tracks ‘Kamehameha’, ‘So Hot’ and ‘Give It Up’.  Trybez (pronounced ‘tribes’) were lucky enough to be invited to support Grace on her recent UK tour. The band kicked things off at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on January 19th and wrapped things up on 30th January at The Roundhouse, one of London’s most notable venues. The eight date tour saw them travel to Glasgow and Manchester among others.

The trio received positive reviews from music critics who praised their trilingual lyrics and alternative sound. Many critics even went as far as to compare Trybez to the Black Eyed Peas which is very high praise indeed.
