Blue Mountains Managing Director standing for election to the board of the Performing Rights Society

2010 marks Guy Morris's thirtieth year in the music business, and before joining Blue Mountain in 2006 he worked at V2 Music Publishing, World Circuit Records & Music, Rykomusic & Hannibal Records and Oval Records & Music.  He has also written royalty software, been a DJ, produced & engineered and promoted live music venues.

Guy is an active member of the Music Publishers Association’s Pop Publisher Committee and was on the 2010 Brit Awards voting academy.

“Should I succeed in being elected to the PRS board, I would treat the appointment as a privilege and a duty, always listening to and acting on behalf of the needs of its membership, both writers and publishers.” said Guy.  “The PRS needs to have a clear and strong voice, with writers and publishers united.  They need to continue to develop into a more progressive and flexible society that is able to adapt to the fast changing musical landscape.”

The election is being held in March and April 2010, with all PRS full and associate members being eligible to vote and the result will be announced at the PRS AGM on April 29^th, 2010.
