Dancehall Reggae singer songwriter Sugar Minott passed away on 10th July 2010 in Saint Andrew Parish, Jamaica. The Godfather of Dancehall career began in the late 60's with the group 'The African Brothers'. In his earlier periods he worked Studio One, producing many hits along the way.
He formed his own label 'Black Roots' in the 1980s and his youth promotion organization helped developed new talent, and at the same time spreading and encomapssing the styles of roots, loevrs rock and classic dancehall to newer artists. Througout his career he had released over sixty albums, and hundreds of singles.
Blue Mountain publish the classic 1979 'Black Roots' album, which included the hits such as 'River Jorden' and 'Hard Time Pressure'. Blue Mountain would like to send out our sincere condolances to the family on this sad time.
